Asian clothes
Asian clothes are fast gaining prominence in the global market. These clothes can be designed to look both modern as well as ethnic. They are colourful, and quite often glamorous and sensual as well.
Everybody is familiar with the sari, one of the more popular Asian clothes. It has been modified over the years, but remains the most sensual and glamorous women’s outfit. A sari can be patterned, plain, have detailed embroidery or be made of almost sheer material. The sari can also be draped in different ways, and is worn with a blouse or ‘choli’. Thanks to their ability to adapt, saris can now be given an Indo-Western look with halters, off-shoulder, sleeveless, noodle straps or even backless tops replacing a traditional blouse.
Asian clothes also incorporate the Salwar Kameez, - an outfit that’s considered versatile and comfortable. Salwar Kameez can also vary in style and are available in bandhani, beaded sequins, block prints, and chikankari designs.
No wedding in India is complete without a lengha, another among the most popular Asian clothes. Lenghas are heavily embroidered and embellished saris, teamed with a choli (top) and dupatta. The most popular colours in lenghas are red, pink, maroon, purple and gold.
When it comes to men’s Asian clothes, the sherwani is the most popular formal garment. It looks like a coat, except that it’s heavily embroidered. It’s worn with a loose pant, dhoti or churidaar. Wearing a sherwani is considered to be a mark of royalty and a symbol of status.
